Planet of Triumphs
Planet of Triumphs is a social media site created for Planet Fitness members across the country. Members are able to share Triumphs (goals), comment on other member's Triumphs and make new friends by following others along their journey to fitness. Planet of Triumphs has over 500,000 members who create new posts using their own images or videos while adding inspirational text to encourage themselves and others. Members can view their feed or create new custom feeds to view only posts that have hashtags they are interested in. Storylines were introduced to allow members to group together their posts to show their progress. Planet of Triumphs won a Silver Honor in the 2016 Shorty Awards for Best Online Community.
My Role
I was the lead engineer on this project, building the site up from designs to live product. Working with designers, I was responsible for creating the responsive, mobile first, front end as well as the back-end functionality and APIs. After the initial launch, I was responsible for creating several new features, like adding hashtags, at mentions and story lines to enhance the site.
